Thunderbolt®PRO Thru-Screw
When a project calls for high-strength concrete fixing with the flexibility of a threaded stud, installers have traditionally turned to chemical anchors. While chemical anchoring remains an excellent solution for many applications, it often involves additional installation steps, curing times, and permanent fixing.
The new Thunderbolt®PRO Thru-Screw provides an alternative approach by combining the proven performance of a screw-bolt anchor with the versatility of an externally threaded stud.
Mechanical Performance Meets Installation Flexibility
Unlike conventional screw-bolts, the Thunderbolt®PRO features an external metric thread above the anchoring section. This allows standard metric nuts, washers and couplers to be fitted directly onto the anchor, creating a fastening solution that can be adjusted, levelled or removed when required.
Because the threaded section remains exposed, the anchor can also be installed before the fixture is positioned, making it ideal for stand-off applications and base plate installations where packing or levelling is required.
Reduce Installation Time
One of the biggest advantages over chemical anchoring is speed.
Chemical anchors typically require:
-
Hole cleaning
-
Resin injection
-
Stud insertion
-
Curing time before loading
The Thunderbolt®PRO eliminates resin and curing time altogether. Once installed correctly, the anchor is immediately ready for fastening, helping reduce installation time and minimise delays on site.
Designed for Demanding Applications
The Thunderbolt®PRO is independently assessed for use in cracked concrete and is suitable for structural applications where confidence in anchor performance is essential.
Available assessments include:
-
ETA Option 1 for cracked concrete
-
AS 5216 compliant
-
Fire assessed
-
Seismic C1 (Mechanical Galvanised & 316 Stainless Steel)
-
Seismic C2 (Mechanical Galvanised)
The anchor is also fully compatible with ICCONS DesignPRO software, allowing engineers to specify and verify anchor performance with confidence.
Available Finishes
The range is available in two material options to suit different environments.
Mechanically Galvanised
Ideal for general construction and commercial applications.
Available sizes:

When Should You Choose a Thunderbolt®PRO Thru-Screw?
If your application requires the convenience of a threaded stud but you'd prefer to avoid resin installation and curing times, the Thunderbolt®PRO offers an efficient mechanical alternative.
It's particularly well suited to projects where:
-
Fast installation is important
-
Fixtures require adjustment or levelling
-
Future removal may be necessary
-
Structural performance in cracked concrete is required
-
Engineers require compliant, tested anchor systems
By combining the speed of a screw-bolt with the functionality of a threaded stud, the Thunderbolt®PRO expands the possibilities for mechanical anchoring across commercial, industrial and infrastructure projects.
